I found a similar patch at a home in S. Wisconsin a few years back and when investigated found the owner had purchased AMZOY plugss seversl years earlier and over the years it crowded out the bluegrass. To the best of my knowledge it is still there. You might be successfulul in getting rid of it if you DIG DEEPER.
